TRENTON, Mo. - Land managers can learn how planned fires can be used as a management tool. The Missouri Department of Conservation will be holding free workshops on the history of, the benefits, and procedures required when using prescribed fires.
Media specialist with the MDC Bill Graham told KXCV/KRNW that prescribed fires can be a useful tool for managing habitats and preventing invasive species, but must be done in a very planned out and safe procedure.
The workshop will be held on Friday, Feb. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Lager Building on the Barton Farm Campus of North Central Missouri College.
Those who are interested are required to register by Sunday, Feb. 2. For more information or to register call Scott Roy at 660-359-5685.
